Julia is Winston's lover and cohort in rebellion. She comes to love Winston above all else, but like Winston, her natural love is finally destroyed in Room 101 and replaced with a deep love for Big Brother. Julia's means of rebelling against the Party is by engaging in promiscuous sex. Winston calls her a rebel only from the waist down.
